History of Mobius[]

Human Colonization and the Robotnik Era[]

Mobius was one of the first planets ever colonised by humans. On it, they discovered a race of sentient anthromorphic animals who behaved very similary to Earth's civilised societies. Their technology was advanced, though they hadn't discovered space flight yet.

The humans formed their own governments, with one country, the United Federation, having a capital city, Station Square. There they established the Guardians of United Nations (G.U.N.).

While interstellar travel was possible, interstellar communication was still years away from completion, and contact with Earth was not re-established for quite some time. The two races co-existed at first, but several wars for supremacy eventually broke out. One human outcast fled to the Mobians during the last war between Mobians and humans, and explained G.U.N.'s latest plans.

The ruling king, Elias Acorn, promoted the outcast to the rank of Warlord. His name was Ivo Robotnik. Robotnik led the Mobian Army against GUN and the opposing human nations and victory seemed assured.

However, Robotnik used his newly constructed robot army and a very small number of loyal Mobian supporters in a coup de'tat against the king. The humans managed to hold their ground, but the Mobians were overwhelmed by Robotnik's invasion.

Years of living beneath tyrannical rule sparked action against Robotnik. Among several Mobian resistance cells were the legendary Freedom Fighters, led by the equally famous Sonic the Hedgehog. They harassed Robotnik time and time again, until Sonic deposed Robotnik for good. The ruling family was restored, and peace returned to the planet.

The Black Arms Invasion[]

The peace was shattered by the arrival of a race of aliens known as the Black Arms, who attacked Mobius with the intent of causing the planet's total destruction. The Mobians and humans were unprepared for the onslaught. The battle raged for days.

It was a former G.U.N. project, Shadow the Hedgehog, who saved the planet with Sonic's assistance. Shadow soon disappeared after the battle's conclusion.

Second Coup / Empire Establishment[]

Mobius began recovering from the damage dealt, but they and the humans became increasingly paranoid concerning each other. Though the humans wanted war, the ruling Mobian queen did not. She tried to calm them with diplomacy, which caused resentment with much of her own population.

A splinter group of Mobians began developing a secret project involving clones created using Shadow's DNA, which was recovered from the ancient ARK colony. With it, they cloned what would later become the hammer and anvil of the new regime.

A second coup  was launched against the queen, but this time it was not robots that were attacking. It was Shadow. Or, as was the case, thousands of Shadow clones. A Mobian claiming the queen's regime was setting the country up for ruin proclaimed himself the Emperor of Mobius.

The humans, seeing an opportunity to finally assume complete control of the planet, unleashed G.U.N.'s full fury at the Mobians.

Escape to Earth[]

Sonic and his famous crew soon found themselves overwhelmed by both aggressors. Sonic knew that Mobius was done for, but he would have the last laugh. A Mobian archaeological expedition found the original colony ship that humans used to reach Mobius and prepped it for take-off.

Both sides caught wind of the escape plan and sought to destroy it, though Sonic would come out yet again playing the role of hero. He leaked the "location" of a potential launch site to both sides, who converged to destroy the colony ship, but instead only found each other.

A massive battle took place, giving Sonic and the loyalists enough time to launch the ship. The ancient hyperdrive installed on it remained functional, and contained the location of humanity's homeworld.

They hoped that Earth's nations would accept them, and time proved them right. Mobian society became established there, but Sonic and his crew, namely Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna, disappeared without a trace.

The Rise of the Empire[]

The War on Mobius raged for two years. With the queen having fled, the remaining Mobians had nowhere else to turn to but the new Emperor, who ordered a mass conscription of the population, even though many volunteers had already signed up willingly.

The sheer numbers of conscripts combined with the power of the Shadow clones proved to be too much for GUN to handle. When it was clear that defeat was inevitable, the human president pushed for surrender.

The Emperor refused. Within hours of the denied surrender, Station Squad was taken, the humans rounded up and executed, the president was the first to die. It was said that no humans survived, though a few still remained on the planet, ever fleeing and battling the Emperor's agents.

War on Mobius Aftermath[]

Humanity's near-destruction on Mobius brought the Mobian Empire to discover their space travel technology. While the colony ship evaded their grasp, the imperials soon acquired hyperdrive technology. With this came their own colonisation project, allowing them to spread their influence to nearby habitable systems.

Soon the current Mobian Empire began taking form. The Mobians also discovered Earth's location. Many of the Emperor's attendants pushed for continued war with the humans, but they discovered that the old Mobian loyalists had moved there.

Also, the humans had already expanded, even beyond the Empire's scope. The Emperor concluded that though they would be distrusting of said humans, there would be no warfare. Instead, he signed a royal decree stating no non-Mobian was permitted to step foot on Mobius.

There was much dissent within the Empire after the takeover, and though the Imperial propaganda machine was a powerhouse in itself, it could not keep the masses in line. The Emperor needed to ensure the masses would believe in him in the Empire, and believed that the galaxy wished to be rid of him, as Mobians had suffered greatly over the past decade. Warfare with humanity was still out of the question. The answer came with the First Great War.

There was much dissent within the Empire after the takeover, and not even the powerhouse that was the Imperial propaganda machine could keep the masses in line. The Emperor needed to make the masses believe in him and the Empire. He believed that the galaxy wishes to be rid of him, as Mobians had suffered much over the past decade, but warfare with the humans was out of the question. The answer came with the first Great War.

The First Great War[]

The First Great War exploded with such fury it shook the Empire itself. The Mobian Alliance, an Earth-based high-tech human/Mobian military organisation, combined with it's allies, found itself defending the planet against robots, living snowmen, and other oppressive armies bent on conquest. The Mobian Empire sent an expeditionary force led by General Aleksander Sturnn and Imperial Commissar Yarrick to assist the Alliance.

The Imperial troopers fought against the Alliance's enemies, and performed well, especially against the Mecha Army. The arrival of the Corvolt Imperium, however, changed things.

The expeditionary force found itself on the back foot against the seemingly numberless foe. Imperial warships joined against the Corvolt during the Battle of Earth. In the end, the Alliance and the Imperials were forced to retreat. The response on the home front was catastrophic for the Mobian Empire, until it's people discovered evidence of Corvolt atrocities..

The Second Great War[]

The Corvolts and their allies soon formed their own coalition, the Terran Dominion. The following year was one of the most brutal in Earth's history. The population was certainly oppressed, but the Mobians were treated far worse and the brutal suffering they experienced provided the ammunition that the Emperor hoped for. Without censure, he presented it to the entire Empire, and claimed Mobius itself would be next on the menu if the Terran Dominion was not defeated. (Ironically, invading the Mobian colonies was actually part of the Corvolt plan.)

The response was overwhelming. Mobians all across the colonies shouted for revenge. The Emperor did not have to rely on conscription. Citizens flocked to recruiting stations in mass. When the commander of the Alliance, Mike Rugar, who was also head of the remaining colonies, established the League of Free Worlds. The Mobian Empire was the first to sign on.

The Second Great War was mainly fought on the new "continent" of Pangaea. Even in this small area, the fighting was as intense as that of the First Great War. Once again, General Sturnn led the Imperial Guard on it's re-conquest of the Earth. Much of the initial invasion was centred on Malta Island, where both League and Dominion forces were caught in a brutal stalemate. The deadlock was eventually broken, and the DOminion was forced on the defensive.

The Imperial Mobian troops were some of the hardest fighting units in the League. The Emperor himself commanded his legions to take no prisoners. They led the siege of City one, and when the Second Battle of Earth began in Earth's orbit, their warships and crew sacrificed themselves to ensure that the League's flagship, Macross, was able to close with the Corvolt Invasion Carrier.

With the death of Admiral Sun, Mobians everywhere rejoiced…

The Aftermath, and the Third Great War[]

Their astounding victory over the Dominion cemented the Mobian Empire's rule over Mobius and her colonies. It grew more powerful than ever, with the Imperial Guard as it's protectors. Their relations with Earth fell somewhat following the Second Great War, as the Emperor denied their request to have Empire troops join the Advanced Police. The Empire left secret listening posts behind with the mission of reporting any future outbreaks of war on Earth, which the Emperor believed to be inevitable.

While the Corvolt Imperium was all but annihilated, the Terran Dominion still had a large force on Earth. The Emperor's prediction became reality as war began again. The Mecha Army had arisen, and the rest of the Dominion along with them. The listening posts transmitted coded messages to all nearby Imperial fleets. General Sturnn and Commissar Yarrick were the first to receive the message, and transmitted it to Mobius before Sturnn ordered his battle fleet to set course for Earth.

The listening posts tracked the Dominion's progress. When Sturnn was informed that the Violet Wolf Army was executing Mobians, he knew he had found his target. He struck directly into the VWA's heart in Ukraine. Commissar Yarrick led the charge himself, as he had done previously in the Second Great War. The battle quickly resulted in a stalemate, and Yarrick found himself on the defensive as VWA troops smashed against the Imperials.

The final blow came when JDR's new Onslaughterer Mobile Suilt completely annihilated the Imperial forces and captured Yarrick. For once in his career, Sturnn was afraid.

The raw power of VWA and their leader JDR brought him to believe the war was not going to be won quickly, certainly not without cost. He ordered all his forces to retreat back into orbit to regroup and await reinforcements.

After witnessing the power of the reborn Terran Dominion and the ineptitude of the ADP and it's allies, Sturnn wondered if they could actually win the war. Still, the Terran Dominion was defeated and went into hiding.

The Fourth Great War and the MDI[]

After witnessing ZEDAF's involvement with Earth's governments and the ADP, the Emperor realised it was impossible to win any political victories. The relationship between the ADP and the Earth government leader Mike Rugar with ZEDAF was too close. In response to ZEDAF's involvement on Earth, the Mobian Empire tracked down and destroyed Colony 8592, an entire ZEDAF colony. There were no survivors.

With the Terran Dominion gone into hiding after it's defeat in the Third War,  General Sturnn was ordered to destroy the ADP and it's Earth allies. While originally shocked to hear he must turn on Ruger, his friend from over three campaigns, Sturnn nevertheless obeyed his Emperor's command.

Knowing the Empire couldn't stand against the ADP and ZEDAG by itself, Sturnn assembled a group of allies to help him shape the new world order. This grouping consisted of the Fire Fox Army, Alpha Federation, Highlander Army, and the Mercenaries -who were well compensated beforehand-. The ADP and ZEDAF soon discovered the Empire's plans and acted accordingly, forming the Solar Federation Forces. The SFF was comprised of the ADP, Kuradia, and ZEDAF.

The centre of this war was Marutius, a large landmass northwest of Australia. MDI forces took City 17 in it's northwest corner and made it their headquarters in the initial stages of the war. Firefox and Alpha units moved south to engage hostiles while the ME awaited the rest of it's reinforcements. Initial attacks were successful and the MDi gained much ground against the opposing factions.

Not all of their efforts were successful though. The Violet Wolf Army was still around, and the Master Death Egg, JDR's personal command ship, controlled the remains of the Terran Dominion.

Alpha fleets moved to intercept the super-weapon but were shot down by Garrick's fleet. Despite fierce resistance from the Master Death Egg, Solar Flare Federation forces were able to successfully board and destroy the ship's generator. No-one saw if JDR survived it's destruction.

Things looked up for the Empire, as Commiader Yarrick had been located. The Empire's hero was soon recovered and brought to City 17's medical facilities. Sturnn was glad to have his old friend back, but despite his wishes, Yarrick sought to return to the front lines. Sturnn reported the news to the capital, and the Emperor was pleased to hear the news.

The first major blow dealt to the MDI came when newly arrived Mobian Imperial Guard reinforcements were offloaded into military bases near City 17. The Kuradians commanded by the Corvolt war hero Nannbara Armisael Garrick shot a nuclear missile onto an army base, killing thousands of Imperial guardsmen and conscripts while dealing massive collateral damage to City 17 and the civilian population.

The MDI temporarily assumed command of a Spectrum ion cannon, using the powerful beam weapon to decimate Garrick's fleet. Garrick was reprimanded for his actions, but retained his command. The SFF had enough. Mike Ruger, armed with the newest Armored Core and Muscle Tracer mechs, ordered an all-out assault on City 17.

Before the attack, the leader of the Firefox Army, Storm, met with Rugar in the city outskirts. Mike ordered Storm to have his forces stand down and join the SFF. Storm refused, stating that the old Alliance was dead and ZEDAF was going to bring ruin to the Earth. Their argument soon led to blows. With nothing accomplished, both officers retreated back to their respective lines.

The attack on City 17 was fierce. Rugar gambled the lives and well-being of much of the SFF in the attack. Armored cores and battle mechs clashed. Imperial gaurdsmen fought Firefox marines while Alpha regulars clashed with crack ADP battalions and Kuradian battlesuits led by Garrick, Rugar, and the ADP leader Alex Murdock. Initial casualties were heavy for both sides, but the MDI rallied and began their counterattack.

General Sturnn had Imperial Guard troops and vehicles encircle the city to entrap the SFF inside while the remainder of the MDI ground their enemies down. Sturnn took the field himself, fighting alongside Storm and RFZ.

Rugar and Storm went one-on-one yet again, but this time they were inside their own respective mechs. Both individuals were skilled mech pilots. After a fierce engagement, Storm destroyed his old friend's mech, critically wounding Mike. ADP forces quickly recovered Rugar's broken body and fell back. The SFF broke through Sturnn's encirclement and retreated south to their headquarters in Beleville.

The MDI scored a great victory, but it did not last long. New threats arose, new factions emerged, and various renegade military forces belonging to the New World Order and Terran Confederation, ran by President Adolf Gustav Mannerheim, rose to prominence. The most dreaded factions were the World Eaters and their allies, the Abyss of Darkness. The Abyss had already caused havoc and bloodshed during the battle of City 17, but now backed by the cultists and demons of the World Eaters, they were posed to destroy all of Marutius.

More disturbing to General Sturnn was the appearance of a splinter faction of Terrans, the Brotherhood of NOD. This quasi-religious terrorist faction launched a genocidal campaign against Mobian civilians in Union City. Worse still, NOD allied with the World Eaters. Sturnn ordered the Mobian Imperial Guard to liberate Union City, whilst the MDI remainder attacked World Eater troops in Troilet and south at New Gettysburg. The fighting lasted for days as the Imperial Guard cleared most of the city of NOD troops, but their endeavor was hampered by the arrival of World Eater reinforcements and the combat continued.

After a brief SFF counterattack against the MDI, a strange turn of events occurred. The SFF allied with the MDI and NWO against the World Eaters, and the Imperial Guard continued the push to cleanse Marutius of the World Eaters once more.

The World Eaters destroyed New Gettysburg, robbing the Terran Confederation of their city. Worse yet, the World Eaters were working on a more disturbing plot by using demonic powers to summon a demon of epic proportions. If brought into their plane existence, the demon would bring forth Armageddon.

A small piece of good news arrived for the MDI & it's allies: the summoning would take time. Expanding the new alliance by teaming up with the Liberator Army, they moved into the World Eater capital of Caspin and besieged it, hoping to end the World Eaters once and for all. DUring the siege, Firefox commander Storm and Highland Army commander RFZ attacked the Abyss of Darkness's trump card: their massive Black Guard Enigma mech.

When the MDI and it's allies could not break through into Caspin, the Kuradian fleet fired a WMD missile at the city and ordered the remaining forces to disengage and clear out. The missile detonated in the city center, vaporising it completely. The surviving World Eaters withdrew from Marutius to the frozen wastelands of their hidden base in the North Pole.

The battle against the Enigma mech had a tragic ending. Storm the Fox was killed in his mech when the Enigma mech exploded. RFZ recovered Storm's body.

Mike Rugar came out of his coma and learned about Storm's death and the alliance against the World Eaders. Despite the MDI's protests, the SFF took charge of Storm's military funeral, firing his body off into space with full honours. Doubts began to arise whether the SFF's missile had completely sealed the demonic portal.

The ZEDAF forces arrived on Earth. The ADP was glad to see it's benefactors arrive, until the ZEDAF opened fire on them. Most of the ADP was wiped out in the first few hours of ZEDAF's arrival. ZEDAF's leader, now completely robotic, wished for the complete robotization of organic life on Earth.

The end of the Fourth Great War arrived with treachery. Shortly after ZEDAF's arrival, Emperor Shafow contacted one of the commanding Imperial Guard officers in orbit and issued Order 99, a hidden program that was placed within the reinforcements that arrived early in the campaign. It contained orders to eliminate the leaders of the MDI, including General Sturnn and Commissar Yarrick.

Yarrick and Sturnn were near the city outskirts when a group of Imperial Guards fired on both of them. Yarrick was killed instantly and Sturnn was knocked off a nearby cliff-side. The Imperial Guard searched City 17 and surrounding areas but found no trace of the deposed general.

But Commissar Yarrick was not who he said he was. While his body had cybernetics, his body was not nearly as mechanical as the one destroyed by the Imperial Guard during Order 99. The Violet Wolf Army's "duplicate officer plot" had created a completely robotic copy of the commissar, which was used to infiltrate the Mobian Empire. Whatever plants JDR had in mind were foiled when Emperor Shadow issued Order 99.

The remaining targets were commanders RFZ, Stu Alpha, and John Jacques. Jacques led the Mercenaries. Even with the element of surprise, the Imperial Guard was unable to execute any of them.

Storm the Fox did not want to rest. Empowered with the Phoenix and a divine purpose, his resurrected body burst out of the sealed coffin floating in space and flew to the Highlanders' command ship, the Arkbird.

Surprised to see him alive, RFZ brought Storm to the Highlander command center, City 21. Their reunion did not last long, as the Mobian Imperial Guard launched an all-out assault. The Highlanders had already lost over fifty percent of their military to the Imperial Guard, and there was no way they could hold City 21.

RFZ ordered the evacuation of all civilians and military personnel, and had City 21 rigged with explosives. The Imperial Guard was too late to stop the evacuation and thousands of IG soldiers were annihilated when the city exploded. This was the end of the MDI and the Fourth Great War. The treachery of the Mobian Empire was to have serious repercussions for Earth, the Empire, and the Firefoxes.

The Lylatian Conflict[]

While the Fourth War was ongoing, another war took place in the Lylat System. The Emperor ordered several fleets to search for more ZEDAF colonies. One search fleet entered the Lylat System and located ZEDAF ships on combat exercises. The Imperials attacked immediately, causing the ZEDAF ships to withdrew towards Corneria. The Imperial fleet's commander reached the conclusion that the Lylatians were ZEDAF sympathisers, and he contacted the Emperor, who ordered the fleet to attack Corneria.

The Cornerians had heard of the Empire's attack on Colony 8592 and were already on edge. When the Imperial fleet approached, the Cornerian Self Defense Force nearly panicked. The bulk of the CSDF fleet was undergoing refitting and retraining with new ZEDAF technology. CSDF general Pepper ordered all CSDF assets on full alert.

The Empire struck quickly, blasting through the CSDF's defenses, firing their bombardment cannons on the planet's capital, Corneria City. Dropships were launched, carrying an invasion force. Reinforcements arrived from the Imperial capital, led by fleet admiral Alastonsus Quarren, who took command of all Imperial starships during the campaign.

Coerneria's Self Defense Force had new experimental tech to throw at the Imperials: prototype fighters, battle-suits, and mechs were used effectively on the front lines. It seemed they could hold against the Empire's sheer numbers, but that notion was shot down with the arrival of the Alpha Federation's fleet. Stu Alpha acknowledged the AF's treaty with the MDI, and had brought a significantly large fleet under the command of the twin AIs Adam and Amy to assist the Imperials. The CSDF faced the danger of being overrun.

ZEDAF and CSDF ships pounded against each other over Corneria. The news of the Lylatian Conflict reached the Solar Flare Federation. ZEDAF commander Volden Ster contacted the Kuradia Mars HQ and requested aid for breaking the Imperial-Alpha siege on Corneria. The Kuradians arrived quickly, wreaking havoc on the Imperial fleet. Imperial and Alpha forces withdrew towards the hyperjump point that led out of the Lylat System. A ship filled with civilians escaped toward the planet of Fichina during the withdrawal, and the CSDF battleship Tartarus escaped to warn the bulk of the CSDF about the invasion.

The SFF learnt too late that the Imperial withdrawal was a trap. The arrival of admiral Quarren's fleet took them entirely by surprise, pushing them back to Corneria and releasing reinforcements onto the planet. The ZEDAF fleet withdrew and entered hyperspace, leaving the remaining CSDF and Kuradians to fend for themselves. CSDF resistance began crumbling planet-side.

The Starfox Team arrived and began fighting the invaders, but the Imperial reinforcements had completely conquered the capital city.

The Tartarus's mission to warn the CSDF succeeded, and the CSDF's 42nd Expeditionary Force, equipped with powerful mechs and Veritech fighters, entered the Lylat System. The Imperial fleet moved in to engage, and their fighters had difficulty engaging the powerful new Veritch fighters. But the Veritech fighters in turn were no match for the Imperial cruisers' flak cannons. Quarren and his personal flagship led the retreat to Corneria's orbit with the Alpha Federation for the purpose of holding the planet at all costs.

Back on Earth, the SFF officers formulated a grand strategy for the removal of the World Eater and MDFI presence on Earth, and planned a full scale attack on Mobius itself. Garrick moved to liberate the Lylat System from the Empire, with the intention of later moving to Mobius itself to force the Emperor to surrender.

Kuradian reinforcements arrived under Garrick's command. Moving into Corneria's orbit, they obliterated Alpha Federation defenses across the capital city. It seemed the tide was turning in favor of the SFF. Meanwhile, a small CSDF base used for battle-suit training exercises on Fichina was being used by the survivors. A small Imperial fleet commanded by admiral Varn Detari tracked a retreating Cornerian ship to the planet and located the hidden base, ordering ground troops to crush it's defenses. The battle was quick, and the small number of CSDF troops barely held against the onslaught.

One group of CSDF and ZEDAF officers escaped by stealing an Imperial dropship, whereas the rest of the base personnel were used as a test for a prototype Imperial weapon: a biological weapon called the Bio-Terminator was dropped onto Fichina. The plague killed off the Lylations and Imperial Guard soldiers in quick fashion, and admiral Detari was pleased with the results, but decided more work was needed before the weapon had practical applications.

The SFF finally gained the upper hand against the Imperial fleet as CSDF ground reinforcements arrived to retake the capital. The Alpha Federation commanders received word that the Mobian Empire's Imperial Guard had committed treachery against the MDI leadership, and ordered a complete withdrawal from Corneria, leaving the Emprie to fend for themselves.

The Emperor's next move was unexpected.

To the surprise of everyone including admirals Quarren and Detari, the Eclipse, Emperor Shadow's personal flagship, jumped into the system. The ship's sheer scale baffled the CSDF and Kuradians, before over a thousand cannons opened fire on their fleets, causing them to crumble near-instantly.

With a single strike, the Emperor foiled the Garrick and the Solar Flare Federation's plan to liberate Corneria and invade the Mobius System. A full troop withdrawal from Corneria's surface was issued while the Eclipse destroyed the CSDF flagship.

As punishment for the Lylatians' alignment with ZEDAF, the Emperor had his fleet launch nuclear bombs across the planet's surface, searing it of all life. To add insult to the injury, he tested the Eclipse's primary weapon, the Eclipse Cannon, on the CSDF-controlled planet of Katina. It was wiped out of existence.

Alpha Federation troops saved hundreds of thousands of civilians before withdrawing from Corneria. Following Katina's destruction, a combined SFF and Alpha fleet engaged the behemoth vessel and the Imperial fleet. While several Imperial ships were destroyed, the Eclipse's shields were unbroken. Seeing the damage dealt to the other ships in his fleet, Emperor Shadow withdrew all of his ships to the Mobius System.

The bombing of Corneria and complete destruction of Katina led to the deaths of billions of Lylatians. The CSDF fleets lay broken and destroyed, and even the valiant Starfox Team was unable to stop the Mobian Empire juggernaut. Cornerian authorities placed some of the blame on ZEDAF for abandoning them during the battle. This outlook might have changed when the fullness of ZEDAF's actions were revealed during the Fifth Great War. Garrick's flagship, orriginally on a collision course with the Lylatian System's sun, Solar, was rescued. Garrick and his crew were safe.

Efforts to rebuild Corneria City were underway as most of the planet was cleaned of the radiation caused by the bombardment. Fichina remained contaminated by the Bio-Terminator prototype plague and remained under quarantine.

Recent History[]

After years of defending their homeworld and colonies from maniacal would-be tyrants, alien invasions and all-round anti-Mobian bigotry, the reformed Mobian Empire concluded that the galaxy was out to get them. The Emperor of Mobius, Shadow the Hedgehog, declared that an army of gargantuan proportions was to be created to combat whatever was thrown at them and to spread their influence across the galaxy, so that the Imperial Guard could destroy all lifeforms that opposed Mobian supremacy.

(Dhalo has not edited past this point.)

Current Situation: The Empire is currently savoring it's victories in the previous wars. The ZEDAF were all but exterminated, and the Lylatian conflict was a significant victory. With the threat of the Lylatians removed almost completely, all eyes turn towards Earth. The newest conflict has broken out on the Earth and the Empire means to capitalize. Rumors of Mobians being forced to fight for the Armex as well as rumors of a possible Robotnik sighting have already lured many citizens to the recruiting stations. The Empire demands vengeance, and vengeance they will have.

The destruction of the Imperial Guard in Europe was a tactical blow, but the Empire knows the FSA does not have the capability to launch such a devastating attack again, due to most of the remaining colonies in Earth's orbit are under Sol control. The Emperor is sending it's finest of the MIG and the Imperial Knights to break the backs of the FSA and it's allies permanently. The Inquisition however, is given the task to find and destroy Robotnik once and for all...

Imperial Military Doctrine[]

The Mobian Empire has two major military branches: The Mobian Imperial Guard, and the Mobian Imperial Navy.

Mobian Imperial Guard[]

Guardsmen - Emperor Shadow the Hedgehog claimed to be the ultimate lifeform, and used his own genetic template as the basis for his grand army. Nearly 60% of the entire Imperial Guard is comprised of his clones, called Imaginary Hedgehogs. These clones are grown in massive bio-vats on Mobius, with thousands produced everyday. From the moment they are decanted, these clones endure a rigorous training regime, and a form of psycho-therapy that uploads basic military tactics into their brains while programming them to remain loyal to the Emperor at all costs. The Imaginary Hedgehog clone-soldiers have superb willpower thanks to Shadow's genetics, which nullify any form o psychic attacks or mind control. Torturing them is a lost cause.

The clones' individual training regimes depend on the secondary colour of their quills.

Blue and Pink - These colors both signify regular infantry, and denote their gender; blue for boys and pink for girls. Shadow's genetic experimentation resulted in the creation of a female version, which is not as physically strong as the male counterpart but has proven to be much faster and more agile on the field of battle. Pink clones are armed with the MA25 Laster Autorifle or the PLEX Anti-Tank Missile Launcher.

Orange - These specialist Guardsmen are trained in heavy weapons. They use the X50 Heavy Machine Gun to lay down suppressing fire on enemy soldiers to let their fellow infantry advance.

Green - These soldiers are bred to be effective squad leaders.

There is only a 5% washout rate among clone soldiers who survive the training process.

CO Profiles[]

Lord General Aleksander Sturnn[]

Age: 45

Rank: Lord General

Race: Mobian (Echidna)

General Sturnn started out as an enlisted officer when the revolution broke out against the Mobian Queen. Promoted to Colonel for his valor in Combat, he was given the honor to be the first to lead the siege of Station Square. After the war, he was promoted to General. When the Empire was to join the first war, the Emperor gave him the command. After the first war ended with defeat, Sturnn said o have gone before the Emperor himself to ask for his permission to lead Imperial forces back to Earth. The Emperor granted it after the Empire became part of the League of Free Worlds. With revenge on his mind, he fought more valiantly than the first war, pushing his troops to the limit. With the victory came promotion to Lord General, the highest rank of the Imperial Guard. With the advent of the third war, he was more than happy to hear that the first to receive the transmission to assist Earth forces against the Dominion. After the capture of Yarrick and the destruction of his forces by the hands of JDR, he began to have doubts about victory. Nevertheless, he is committed, and now with reinforcements, he wants to take the fight back to JDR and find the Commissar.

Imperial Commissar Yarrick[]

Age: 60s

Rank: Commissar

Race: Mobian (Mongoose)

The old mongoose has seen his fair share of war more than Sonic ever has. He had lost both an eye and his left arm in the wars against the humans. While originally loyal to the Ruling family of Mobius, when the Queen wished for peace between both human and Mobian, his loyalty was over. He joined with the secret organization to destroy the Humans once and for all with the Shadow clones. He became the group’s voice, as he was a powerful and charismatic leader. Though the troops were loyal to the core, the Commissar’s job was to press them to the limit. When conscription was needed, he ordered that all soldiers, whether clone or not fight 110% or be shot personally by him. The Emperor presented him with many rewards following the battle. He was paired up with then Col. Sturnn in the battle for Station Square, and the two became friends. The colonel being an excellent tactician, the other a powerful leader, the two could not be stopped. When Gen. Sturnn was ordered to Earth for the first and second war, he pulled all the strings he could to ensure that he was assigned with him. Yarrick always looks for the opportunity to be alongside the troops during battle. The Commissar’s presence alone has won many a battle; it didn’t save him from JDR and the Onslaughterer. He is currently MIA. Though JDR will have his minions torture him, he will not talk, as his faith in the Emperor is absolute…

Varn Detari[]

Age: Unknown (Approximately 100+ Years)

Rank: Supreme Commander

Race: Cat

Once an army general from the Acorn reign during the first Great War on Mobius, he was one of the many Mobians that were roboticized after Robotnik's coup. Though nearly all of the time during Robotnik's rule he slaved away endlessly in the factories, unable to control his thoughts or actions. When the war with Robotnik ended, and all of the roboticized Mobians freed, Detari felt a bitter hatred of human society. He refused to be de-roboticized when the technology became available, claiming that his condition was his penance for his inability to destroy Robotnik when he turned on the Mobians. He became even more distressed when he learned of the Acorns negotiating peace between the humans. Shadow came forward with an offer, to lead his new army against the Acorns and destroy the humans once and for all. Varn became the first Imperial General. He masterminded the entire coup d'etat and the campaign against the Mobians. He, under Shadow's blessing, was the one to give the order to exterminate all humans from Mobius. Now promoted to Supreme Commander, he now leads the Imperial Crusade against the Solar System, to rid the galaxy of humanity once and for all.

Emperor Shadow the Hedgehog[]

The Immortal Emperor of Mobius, Shadow rules the Empire with a iron grip. Born from humanity's attempt to create the Ultimate Lifeform, he may very well be humanity's downfall. His special status as the Ultimate Lifeform gives him abilities few Mobians can ever dream about, one of which is immortality (he doesn't age, not total invincibility). His abilities with Chaos Emeralds are also of legend, and during his half century of ruling the Empire, Shadow has achieved perfection of his powers, giving him nearly demi-god status. Many decry his brutal methods, many call him a madman, but no one truly understands this enigmatic being. His conversion of Mobius into a planet-fortress and his harsh methods of policing the Imperial colonies are to him a necessity. He believes the Mobian race will be again a target of humanity, if not any other alien race with dreams of conquest over Mobius, a statement with some truth to it. To Shadow, Mobius is everything. If it falls, so does the entire Mobian race. Now, Shadow wishes to exact revenge against the humans, wishing to turn Earth into an Imperial colony, making the humans suffer as the Mobians did when they tried to colonize their world.
