Komodalisk

The Komodalisk-Class Mechanised Walker is a light mech designed for the United Government of the Milky Way (Galactic Government) [UMGW/GG] by Soulborne Manufacturing.

History[]

Byarli Ablaze Campaign[]

When the Ankanian Imperialis seized one of the UGMW's colonies, it's leadership held a vote which concluded in favor of producing hundreds of mechs with which to defend their combined interests.

The Komodalisk-Class Mechanised Walker and Charger-Class Light Mech were produced by Soulborne Manufacturing, and a training program was quickly established.

Loudout[]

Each Komodalisk is equipped with a missile launcher or artillery cannon. The chassis is also supplied with two turrets, one on the side and another between the legs. The side turret acts as a plasma machine gun while the crotch turret shoots a piercing plasma laser beam. The mech also has a jump jet.

How To Portray[]

Unlike the Charger, which deals damage up close the Komodalisk is used for long and mid range firepower. A volley of smart missiles streak out towards the enemy, hitting preset locations on the ground or in the air, or heading towards pre-programmed targets. Explosions wrack the battlefield.

The side turret lets out a stream of deadly machine gun fire, cutting down enemies and hitting vital spots in vehicles and fortifications. It can also target air or space vehicles.

The crotch laser turret pierces the strongest foes on the field, or goes after specific targets.

The missile launcher contains several rounds of missiles and requires seven seconds to load the next volley. The side turret takes nine seconds to reload a new belt of ammunition, and the crotch turret's battery lasts the longest out of all the weapons and takes two minutes to recharge.

A Komodalisk's legs are vulnerable to concentrated fire, in which case it will fall, legs collapsed, and likely suffer some damage, but the cockpit, side turret and launcher are designed to survive a tumble and the jump pet will still work, turning a downed Komodalisk into either a flying nuisance or a mobilised weapons platform.

The cockpit is positioned so that the pilot can choose to use an elevation system to rise up a foot or so to glance out of it, but the single occupant usually relies on a HUD system. This tends to save the occupant from snipers, but any sharpshooters with a high enough perch may penetrate the glass and possibly kill the pilot. Aircraft and weapon emplacements can also take the pilot out from above.

While the legs are vulnerable, the feet are extremely tough, since they are based off of G.U.N.'s Bigfoot mech design. These can stomp on pretty much anything, and the jump jets make the stomp all the more effective.
